Using segments is not only a great way to target specific groups of contacts but it's also a great way to retrieve data from CONNECT for use outside of the application. This tutorial will help walk you through how to export a segment using our Exports feature.

Please note: To try out the feature, click the full screen icon in the tutorial.



The first step is to open <span class=""><i><b>Target</b></i></span> and click <span class=""><i><b>Segment </b>you wish to export</i></span>

Click <span class="component"><i><b>Save and Export as .csv</b></i></span>

Click <span class=""><i><b>Fields dropdown</b> to change the fields you want to include in your file. By default, they are all selected.</i></span>

Click <span class="component"><i><b>Uncheck all</b></i></span>

Check&nbsp;<span class=""><i><b>Fields</b> you would like to include</i></span>

Click <span class=""><i><b>Close</b></i></span>

Click <span class=""><i><b>Yes</b> to add Subscription details to your file. This includes permission level, capture date and source for each subscription you select.</i></span>

Click <span class="component"><i><b>Select subscription(s)</b></i></span>

Check the&nbsp;<span class=""><i><b>Subscriptions</b> you would like to include</i></span>

Click <span class=""><i><b>close</b></i></span>

Click <span class=""><i><b>Yes</b> to enable email notifications that can be sent to you and up to 5 people when the export is finished.<br></i></span>

Click <span class=""><i><b>Other email address (Max. 5)</b></i></span>

Click <span class="component"><i><b>Email #1</b></i></span>

Type **** in <span class="component"><i><b>Email #1</b></i></span>

Click <span class="component"><i><b>Email</b></i></span>

Click <span class="component"><i><b>Email #2</b></i></span>

Type **** in <span class="component"><i><b>Email #2</b></i></span>

Click <span class="component"><i><b>Email #2</b></i></span>

Click <span class="component"><i><b>Export</b></i></span>

Click <span class=""><i><b>Go to Export</b> to see the details of your export and the progress of your file. <br><br>If you want to continue working on your segment and view your export later, click&nbsp;<b>Close</b></i></span>

View the <span class=""><i><b>Details</b> of your Export on the left.</i></span>

View all&nbsp;<span class=""><i><b>Files</b> that have been created by the Export</i></span>

Click <span class="component"><i><b>Download file</b></i></span>

If you would like to create a new file using the same settings, click <span class=""><i><b>Run again</b> and it will include any changes to your data made since the last file was created.</i></span>

Click <span class="component"><i><b>Exports</b></i></span>

That's it. You're done.
